On 16 June 2023, 2 members of the Parkside Chambers Mainland Affairs Committee (Frederick Chan and Dexter Leung) were invited to deliver a talk in Putonghua on HKIAC commercial arbitrations in Chinese (香港國際仲裁中心的中文民商事仲裁) at Guanghe Law Firm (廣和律師事務所) at the Shenzhen International Innovation Centre (深圳國際創新中心). During the talk and the Q&A session that followed, Frederick and Dexter gave an introduction to various procedural aspects under the Arbitration Ordinance (Cap. 609) and the 2018 HKIAC Administered Arbitration Rules and shared their practical experience from conducting HKIAC commercial arbitrations in Chinese.
On the same day, Frederick and Dexter were invited on behalf of the Parkside Chambers Mainland Affairs Committee to visit the newly-established Jingsh & H Y Leung (Qianhai) Law Firm (京師浩然(前海)聯營律師事務所) at the SCIA Tower (國際仲裁大廈) in Qianhai, Shenzhen.
Frederick is an experienced counsel and arbitrator with a focus on commercial litigation and arbitration with a cross-border element / relating to Mainland China. He can conduct cases in English, Cantonese and Putonghua. He passed the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Legal Professional Examination in 2021 and currently chairs the Mainland Affairs Committee of Parkside Chambers.
Dexter has a wide-ranging practice and has experience conducting commercial litigation and arbitration with a cross-border element / relating to Mainland China. He is capable of conducting cases in English, Cantonese and Putonghua. He is a member of the Mainland Affairs Committee of Parkside Chambers.
