Martin has an extensive practice in civil litigation (in all levels of Courts and Tribunals in Hong Kong) and arbitration, particularly in cross-border commercial disputes involving financing, investment, JVs etc.. He also has an established practice in matters such as equal opportunity, professional negligence and personal injuries. He has also advised on regulatory matters for intended listed companies and acted as expert on matters of Hong Kong law in court litigation and arbitration in the Mainland, Malaysia and Singapore.
He also has significant experience in acting in urgent matters such as obtaining injunctions in major commercial disputes.
Apart from English, he has conducted hearings in Punti and Mandarin and supplied written submissions in Chinese.
Martin was appointed as Deputy District Judge in March 2018, November 2022 and Temporary Deputy Registrar of the High Court in January 2019, November 2020 and March 2022.
