Martin has an extensive practice in civil litigation (in all levels of Courts and Tribunals in Hong Kong) and arbitration, particularly in commercial disputes, shareholder disputes, regulatory compliances and insurance disputes.  He regularly advises on regulatory matters for intended listed companies.  He also has an established practice in matters such as equal opportunity, professional negligence and personal injuries.

He also has significant experience in acting in urgent matters such as obtaining injunctions in major commercial disputes.

Martin was appointed as Deputy District Judge in March 2018 and Temporary Deputy Registrar of the High Court in January 2019 and November 2020.
