On 28 April 2023, Frederick Chan and Dexter Leung were invited to deliver a talk at the Shenzhen Qianhai Cooperation Zone People’s Court as part of a training series on the common law (深圳前海合作區人民法院普通法系列培訓) organised by the Centre for Basic Laws of Hong Kong and Macao of Shenzhen University (深圳大學港澳基本法研究中心).

The talk, attended by judges and legal practitioners, covered a range of topics in Putonghua relating to guarantees, indemnities and undue influence. During the talk and the Q&A session that followed, Frederick and Dexter shared their practical experience from past cases involving these areas of law.

Frederick is an experienced counsel and arbitrator with a focus on commercial litigation and arbitration with a cross-border element / relating to Mainland China. He can conduct cases in English, Cantonese and Putonghua. He passed the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Legal Professional Examination in 2021 and currently chairs the Mainland Affairs Committee of Parkside Chambers.

Dexter has a wide-ranging practice and has experience conducting commercial litigation and arbitration with a cross-border element / relating to Mainland China. He is capable of conducting cases in English, Cantonese and Putonghua. He is a member of the Mainland Affairs Committee of Parkside Chambers.
